Career

Jim Byram is a seasoned litigator with a particular focus on complex environmental, administrative, and eminent domain litigation. He has successfully defended multi-plaintiff nuisance suits claiming surface water and groundwater pollution and depletion, sinkholes, dust and noise pollution, and blasting and flooding damage. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in administrative and environmental challenges to permitted activities in cases as varied as local real estate development projects to system-wide operations of federally licensed dams and reservoirs. Jim also regularly represents the plaintiffs in eminent domain actions, including the condemnation of easements and rights of way for electric transmission line and natural gas pipeline projects. In addition, Jim serves as a certified mediator for trial and appellate cases.
