Career

Allen Estes is the chair of Balch’s Litigation Section, leading more than 120 professionals who prepare, try and win cases for our clients. Allen spends each day working with Balch teams who help innovative businesses identify and solve problems. Sometimes this requires litigation, but more often resolution comes through creative solutions that allow business people to focus on opportunities instead of seemingly never-ending disputes.

Allen began his career focused exclusively on trial work, with cases involving a wide variety of issues including exposing a rogue employee who was taking bribes from online pornographers; defending businesses who had millions of dollars of business taken from them by former employees; defendant business; defending businesses wrongfully accused of injuring others; as well as defending an electric utility caught up in billions of dollars worth of Enron's shenanigans.

Through the years Allen's practice has progressed. While still heavily involved in litigation for the firm's largest clients, Allen is now called upon more to help identify and address issues while businesses grow. Bringing a trial attorney's mindset to negotiations allows Allen and others at Balch to identify, explain, and resolve problems before business operations are negatively impacted.  And if litigation is required, Allen and the Balch team know the issues from the beginning which allows the litigation team to win efficiently.
