He has been working for over 20 years in strategic tax litigation, both judicial and administrative, as well as in the field of tax consulting. He graduated from PUCRS and holds a Doctorate and Master's degree in Tax Law from UFRGS, as well as being a specialist in Tax Law from IBET/SP. He is a member of the Tax Law Special Commission of OAB/RS, FESDT (Fundação Escola Superior de Direito Tributário), and IET (Instituto de Estudos Tributários), and is a tax consultant for FGV/RJ (Fundação Getúlio Vargas).

Additionally, he is a professor in the graduate course in Tax Law at PUCRS/IET, as well as teaching tax law at AJURIS (Associação dos Juízes do Rio Grande do Sul), FMP (Fundação do Ministério Público), and ESMAFE (Escola dos Juízes Federais do Rio Grande do Sul). He acts as a speaker at some of the largest Tax Law conferences in the country, organized by institutions such as FESDT, IET, IBET, ABDT, IARGS, and OAB, as well as public entities like CARF, DRJs of the Federal Revenue of Brazil, TRF, etc.

He is the author of the books “Irretroatividade Tributária Material” (Material Tax Non-Retroactivity) and “A Proibição dos Efeitos de Confisco no Direito Tributário” (The Prohibition of Confiscatory Effects in Tax Law), both published by Editora Malheiros/SP, and has written various legal articles in the field of Tax Law, published in national journals and books, such as the book “Tributação e Cidadania”  (Taxation and Citizenship), released in March 2020 in Brasília to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Superior Court of Justice.
