María Jesús Becerra is Counsel of the Firm’s White-Collar Crime practice.

She has extensive experience in criminal litigation, participating in oral trials before Criminal Courts and Superior Courts of Justice, as a plaintiff and as a defense lawyer, regarding crimes of diverse nature and complexity. She has represented both companies and individuals, including in the latter case, directors, top executives, among others.Likewise, she has provided advice to national and multinational companies on compliance, crime prevention matters, criminal liability of legal entities, and in highly complex cases regarding possible crimes of fraud, corruption, and money laundering.

Her practice specializes in economic and property crimes, also having experience in medical malpractice, negligent offences, crimes against privacy, among others. Likewise, she has provided criminal advice to various industries, including, for example, mining, commerce, education, insurance, pension fund administrators, isapres, among others.

María Jesús joined Prieto on 2024. She previously worked as a senior associate leading the White-Collar Crime practice at Parraguez Marín & Del Río (2020-2023); as an associate of the White-Collar Crime department at Claro & Cía. (2016-2020); and as an associate of litigations at GFSU (2014-2015).
