Position

María Paz is a partner and a member of the mining and metals area. In addition, she is a member of the natural resources and environmental law departments.

Career

She specializes in mining, natural resources, and environmental matters, with a focus on strategic planning, development, and operation of projects, as well as the acquisition and commercial transactions of natural resource projects and companies. Additionally, she advises both domestic and international companies on complex litigation, permitting processes, land and territorial matters, and engagement with local communities, indigenous groups, and regulatory authorities.

Before joining our team, María Paz worked with Baker & McKenzie and Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría.

In the academic field, she is a Professor of Mining and Environmental Law at Universidad de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has various publications on mining and environmental law.
