Career

Luiza has approximately 12 years of experience in the Labor and Employment Law area, dealing manly with strategic litigation and legal counseling.

She represents clients of various industries and economic sectors, including mining, agribusiness, oil and gas and port sectors, tobacco industry, pharmaceuticals, high technology and financial market companies. On labor litigation, Luiza is focused in strategic claims filed by employees, senior executives, directors, labor public attorneys and unions, most of which are related to employment and/or employment relationships, labor liabilities resulting from harassment, work accidents and occupational diseases and recognition of employment relationships and the responsibility of companies towards their service providers. Luiza also manages lawsuit portfolios, plans long-term litigation, accruals and settlement policies. At the labor administrative level, Luiza deals with the Labor Attorney’s Office (“MPT”) and the Ministry of Labor regarding compliance, by companies, with labor legislation.

In consulting practice, Luiza provides legal opinion and in company trainings on general labor and employment issues, human Resources practices, anti-harassment policies, remuneration, adaptation of international employment contracts to Brazilian laws and clarifications on labor legislation in general, including alternatives in the labor area for specific sectors of the economy. She also assists companies developing quality control reports regarding financial aspects of labor claims, such as accruals, payments, debts and income taxes.

Additionally, Luiza does interdisciplinary work involving different practices areas, advising companies about labor of risks and opportunities on general transactions, M&A, Future of Work, technology and innovation related to employment relations and ESG on its "social" framework.
