Career

Catherine is a Partner in the Construction and Infrastructure Practice Group at Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP.  She is a passionate advocate, who focuses on providing business-critical strategic counsel to clients facing complex legal challenges, particularly in complex commercial disputes and construction and infrastructure disputes.  Catherine is dedicated to providing excellent client service, and ensuring the advancement of her clients’ interests with a strategic focus on achieving their overall business objectives.

She has been recognized by leading rankings publications for her expertise in construction and infrastructure, and in particular, her ability to quickly ascertain the legal complexities of a given case and provide business critical strategic legal advice.

Catherine has represented a diverse group of clients, including government entities and Crown corporations, owners and general contractors, as well as multinational public and private corporations. She has represented clients in complex commercial disputes, and in a wide variety of disputes involving construction liens and trusts, bond and insurance claims, contract interpretation, delay and extras claims, and professional negligence. Catherine also routinely advises clients on the avoidance and management of risk in the administration of construction contracts and large scale projects.

Catherine is a strong advocate, who has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and she also has extensive experience with mediation and commercial arbitration.

Catherine is also an active industry leader, an author with respect to issues of importance to the construction and infrastructure practice of law, and a frequent speaker on construction law-related topics at industry, legal and educational events.

In addition to her practice, Catherine is a dedicated mentor and advisor, as well as a long-time supporter of Pro Bono Ontario and has regularly appeared as pro bono counsel at the Superior Court of Ontario and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
