Luiz is a specialist in the capital markets, assisting issuers (both registered an unregistered) and underwriters in offerings of debt instruments, equity, and hybrids, as well as other regulatory matters related to publicly held companies. He has experience in public offerings of securities, as well as in mergers and acquisitions, tender offers, and strategic transactions. Luiz has led multi-jurisdictional transactions across various sectors, handling sophisticated and innovative offering structures, with discussions involving issuers, debt securities holders, shareholders, advisors, regulators, stock exchanges, and representatives of publicly held companies.

With over 13 years of experience, he has been consistently involved in the most complex and high-profile transactions in the country, such as (i) the merger between LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines, which created LATAM; (ii) the acquisition of control of Amil by UnitedHealth; (iii) the listing of Banco Santander Spain as a foreign issuer and the public tender offer for all shares of Banco Santander Brazil; (iv) the dual-listing IPO of Azul Airlines, conducted in Brazil and the United States; and (v) the dual-listing IPO of Nubank, conducted in the United States and Brazil.

Recently, Luiz led the advisory (i) for the issuers in the issuance of Commercial Notes for three entities of the Merama Group, totaling approximately R$ 1 billion in 2024; (ii) for the issuer of incentivized debentures of an entity from the AXS Energia group, totaling approximately R$ 120 million in 2024; (iii) for the issuer in the issuance of simple debentures of Cielo S.A., totaling approximately R$ 4.5 billion in 2024; and (iv) for the issuer of incentivized debentures of Brasil Tecnologia e Participações S.A., totaling approximately R$ 545 million in 2024.

Luiz joined the firm as an intern in 2011 while still a law student.
