Career

Emily is a seasoned capital markets and derivatives lawyer and trusted advisor. She provides strategic legal advice on a wide range of issues including derivatives, fund formation, private credit and a broad range of investment-related matters.

She frequently drafts and negotiates complex financial agreements and provides advice on domestic and international laws and regulation and their impact on transactional agreements. She also has extensive experience advising on adherence to International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) protocols.

Prior to joining BLG, Emily acted as lead derivatives counsel at a large pension plan in Ontario for over a decade, providing advice on a wide range of capital markets and derivatives issues. Emily also previously practiced at an international firm, where she was Co-Chair of the Derivatives Group.

Emily is a regular speaker at industry forums and conferences.
