In addition, the firm considers global policy issues through its Centre for Information Policy Leadership, a think tank that provides strategic leadership and consulting on all aspects of global information policy, privacy, and security.

Energy & Infrastructure:
Hunton’s energy and infrastructure practice advises sponsors, lenders, investors, independent power producers, government agencies, and other project participants on the development, acquisition, and financing of capital-intensive energy projects (including a substantial portion of the wind and solar projects that are financed in the United States). Hunton has a deep bench of attorneys with decades of experience representing clients on transportation, water and sewer, telecommunications, mining, nuclear, and other infrastructure projects across the US, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

In addition, the firm regularly advises on the formation of wholesale market energy systems, capital markets, and commercial and structured financings and public-private partnerships. The firm’s lawyers represent clients through an effective, multidisciplinary approach that offers a broad range of experience in financing, tax, environmental and land use, FERC and energy regulation, project development, and real estate, allowing the firm to provide seamless representation across the life of project.

Environmental:
Hunton is on the front lines of emerging environmental and climate change issues in the US Supreme Court and other federal and state courts; with federal and state regulatory agencies; and before the US Congress. Hunton provides counsel on the full range of traditional environmental matters, including air, water, natural resources, waste management, and site cleanup, as well as new areas of regulatory focus such as climate change mitigation, PFAS and other emerging chemicals of concern, environmental justice, energy transition, and sustainability and environmental, social, and corporate governance. In the context of climate change, the firm is a global leader advising clients on carbon markets and trading, climate disclosures, electrification of the transportation sector, and energy transition project development, including, for example, wind and solar, nuclear, carbon capture and sequestration, direct air capture, hydrogen, and associated infrastructure.

Labor & Employment:
Hunton’s labor and employment team understands the challenges facing employers today and represents clients in virtually every form of traditional and emerging labor and employment issue. The firm has represented national and multinational corporations in countless class and collective actions, pattern and practice actions, government enforcement actions, individual and multi-plaintiff claims, and state agency proceedings. The team’s lawyers include numerous courtroom veterans and are among the few lawyers who have tried class and collective actions to jury verdict using representative proof. Its traditional labor lawyers are known for their expertise in complex union and labor matters before the National Labor Relations Board and the courts, representing clients nationwide in high-stakes union proceedings. The team also has a robust counseling practice that routinely advises clients on day-to-day compliance matters and partners with colleagues in firm transactional practices on mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, spin offs, and other corporate transactions. Our team represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment matters, including trade secrets, non-competes, internal investigations, allegations of discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, wrongful termination, and retaliation, background checks, drug testing, and other federal and state law claims.

Litigation:
Hunton’s litigators focus on strategy over tactics, developing comprehensive plans that are aligned with each client’s business and legal objectives.
