Career

Mr. Band’s practice spans the full range of business and family immigration law, with an additional emphasis on immigration-related corporate compliance. He counsels corporate and individual clients on complex immigration matters and has significant experience representing individuals in the entertainment industry.

Mr. Band works with multinational companies in many industries, including pharmaceutical, technology, fintech, manufacturing, and conservation to develop and manage sophisticated immigration programs. He advises on both international personnel transfers and the employment of foreign nationals already in the United States for temporary and long-term roles. His experience also includes counseling employers on I-9 compliance, government site visits, and related investigations and enforcement matters.

He represents businesses and individuals before the Department of Homeland Security, including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as before the Department of Labor, the Department of State, and U.S. consular posts around the world.

In addition to his client work, Mr. Band is deeply committed to public service. As Chair of the Pro Bono Committee for the firm’s Washington office, he dedicates more than 100 hours annually to pro bono matters, focusing primarily on assisting immigrant survivors of domestic abuse, as well as supporting and mentoring attorneys handling immigration-related pro bono matters.
