Jarrett R. Hoffman is a partner in Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz’s Executive Compensation Department.  He advises companies, private equity sponsors, hedge funds, family offices and senior executives across all stages of the corporate and investment life cycle, drawing on extensive experience in the transactional and strategic aspects of executive compensation matters.

Mr. Hoffman regularly counsels boards of directors, compensation committees, management teams and individual executives on executive employment relationships and transitions, including change‑in‑control, retention and severance arrangements.

Mr. Hoffman has been consistently recognized by Chambers USA in the employee benefits and executive compensation category since 2019, with clients highlighting his strong commercial judgment and deep expertise.  He was named a Law360 “Rising Star” in 2021 (as one of the country’s top executive compensation lawyers under 40), recognized among the “Top 3 Employment Lawyers in North America” by MergerLinks in 2024, identified as a “Leading Corporate Employment Lawyer” by Lawdragon in 2026, and is ranked as a Leading Partner by The Legal 500 US in Executive Compensation.

Mr. Hoffman received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2005 and his LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 2006.  He is active in a number of professional and community organizations, serving on the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, as a board member of the Center for Family Life in Sunset Park and on UJA’s Crisis to Stability Committee.
