Career

Helen Biggin represents clients in aviation and shipping litigation, high-value commercial disputes, internal investigations, breach of confidence matters and fraud claims.

She acts for aircraft lessors, ship owners, private equity funds, financial institutions and multinational companies in proceedings before the English courts and arbitral tribunals, including the Commercial Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, the LCIA and the LMAA.

Helen’s practice focuses on high-profile aviation and shipping disputes. She has handled numerous LMAA arbitrations and vessel arrests, including many which arose out of the OW Bunker insolvency, and has appeared at every level of the English courts. That depth of experience helps her scale strategy for both fast-moving disputes and long-running litigation, always calibrated to the client’s commercial objectives and risk profile.

Clients value Helen’s calm, direct approach and her ability to balance legal precision with business reality. She tailors her approach to the forum and matter at hand, working to preserve key relationships where possible.

In addition to contentious work, Helen provides risk-focused guidance on cross-border transactions. She collaborates with colleagues in transportation, finance and corporate practices to help clients anticipate and avoid disputes. Helen also serves on the legal advisory panel of the Aviation Working Group, a global nonprofit group of manufacturers, lessors and financial institutions that influence aviation finance and leasing regulation. Her involvement reflects a long-standing commitment to the industry and the commercial frameworks that define it.
