Work Department

Joanne is a Partner in Eversheds Sutherland’s Commercial practice.

She advises on technology and outsourcing projects. Joanne helps both customer and suppliers, so she understands the issues from both perspectives. Her sectors of focus are TMT, financial services and public sector.

Joanne works with a range of financial institutions and also technology suppliers that work in the financial services sector. She has experience advising on a range of technology and outsourcing projects in the sector, including outsourcing of cybersecurity services, data centre services, and pensions administration services. Joanne also helps clients to understand the impact on their outsourcing and other third-party arrangements of the most recent guidelines that impact the sector, including the European Banking Association’s "Guidelines on Outsourcing Arrangements" and the Prudential Regulation Authority’s SS2/21: Outsourcing and third party risk management, and helps them to achieve compliance.

In the public sector, Joanne leads technology and outsourcing projects for various public sector clients, including central government. She understands the public procurement law context of these projects, having spent a couple of years working in our public procurement team. Joanne can also advise from a supplier perspective, whether in relation to a bid for a new procurement or a variation to an existing contract. She also has experience applying her knowledge of technology and outsourcing projects internationally, having worked on projects in Liberia and Saudi Arabia and helping a technology supplier with its bids for project opportunities advertised by EU institutions.

Joanne has undertaken a number of client secondments, including with a global financial institution (April to June 2021) and a global technology provider (January 2019 to June 2020). Between August 2017 and September 2018, Joanne was on a secondment to our Hong Kong office.
