Sophie Parkin is a health, safety and environmental lawyer with significant experience advising organisations following serious incidents, including fatalities, catastrophic injuries and environmental events. Sophie’s practice focuses on investigations, inquests and enforcement brought by regulators. She regularly provides crisis response support and advises clients at an early stage of investigations and supports organisations through enforcement action. Sophie is well versed in carrying out complex internal investigations, analysing evidence and advising on legal responsibilities and industry benchmarks.

Sophie regularly assists boards and senior leaders with governance, compliance and risk management issues, including review and scrutiny of risk management systems and senior personnel training.

Sophie acts for clients across a range of high risk sectors including energy, construction, transport, manufacturing, waste, infrastructure and education, and is frequently involved in complex and high profile matters attracting significant scrutiny. Sophie is recognised for her calm, pragmatic approach and her ability to deliver clear, defensible advice in challenging and fast moving situations. She is also a Solicitor Advocate with rights of audience in the Higher Criminal Courts and regularly attends Court on behalf of clients.
