Rob is a Partner in our Data Centre team and the firm’s Real Estate group. He specialises in data centre and digital infrastructure investment, development and customer contracting, and also has extensive experience across core real estate investment transactions (including offices and logistics). Rob’s practice is international, working on cross-border and domestic commercial real estate transactions, spanning direct and indirect investments, joint ventures, financings, developments, lettings and sale & leasebacks and for a broad client base, including international investors, funds, lenders, developers, operators and occupiers.

His recent experience includes acting for:

• various data centre developers, operators and funders on site acquisitions (greenfield, stabilised and refurbishment assets)

• various data centre developers, operators and funders on major data centre campus acquisitions and developments

• various data centre developers, operators and funders in connection with customer agreements, ranging from major NNN and powered shell leases to colocation services contracts, including developing template and bespoke customer contract documents

• investors on their bids for and acquisitions of European data centre operators, including carve-outs and complex MSA negotiations

• debt funds and bank lenders on data centre financings, including construction financings and securitisations

• a leading European towerco on the real estate aspects of a series of telecoms tower acquisitions and disposals in the UK and Europe

• a leading UK telco on a commercial agreement for the creation of an edge colocation business

• US and European investors on office investments and partnerships with logistics developers to develop logistics properties in the UK and Europe

• a real estate investment manager on behalf of its client in relation to the acquisition and leaseback of a major logistics property of circa 2 million square feet

• a real estate investment manager and their joint venture partner on the sale of a portfolio of UK logistics assets

• various private equity and infrastructure funds on the real estate aspects of investments in and dispositions of energy projects (including solar, windfarms, landfill gas, biomass and biofuel, and battery storage)

• a governmental organisation on funding of the acquisition and upgrade of a vaccine facility in the UK

Prior to becoming a partner at Eversheds Sutherland, Rob spent more than a decade at a major UK-headquartered global law firm. He has also spent time seconded to Morgan Stanley's real estate investment management team and Amazon Web Services' data centre colocation services team.
