Adam Smith is a Principal Associate in the firm’s construction and engineering team, advising on major infrastructure and development projects. He has extensive experience acting on high profile sports stadia developments, including new build stadia and the redevelopment and expansion of existing venues, as well as associated facilities such as training complexes, academies and mixed use estate works. He regularly advises on all aspects of construction works for multiple professional football clubs, supporting projects delivered within live operational environments and under demanding programme constraints.

Adam also advises on complex defence infrastructure programmes, supporting clients through all stages of the project lifecycle from procurement strategy and contract structuring to project delivery. In addition, he advises a major contractor on all aspects of its contractual construction requirements across a wide portfolio of projects, including significant development and regeneration schemes that have contributed to the skyline transformation of the city of Manchester in recent years. Adam advises developers, contractors, funders and public sector bodies on technically demanding and operationally sensitive projects, often involving significant regulatory and programme considerations. His practice focuses on transactional construction matters, including advising on delivery models, risk allocation and bespoke construction and engineering contracts.
