Liz Whitfield is a Principal Associate in the Real Estate Practice Group at Eversheds Sutherland. She has extensive experience advising on a broad range of corporate occupier real estate matters, including complex acquisitions and disposals, sale and leaseback transactions, refinancing, development projects, and real estate aspects of corporate transactions. Liz regularly advises on landlord and tenant matters and portfolio management, acting for a diverse client base that includes corporate occupiers, private investors and developers across a wide range of sectors. She has particular experience advising major financial institutions, including a high street bank, on the management of extensive property portfolios. This work includes negotiating conditional agreements for lease, granting underleases, and advising on portfolio sales and surrenders.

Liz is highly experienced in the management of retail property portfolios and acts as the retail asset lead for investor and occupier clients. In this role, she advises on all aspects of retail leasing, providing commercially focused and practical guidance tailored to her clients’ operational needs. As a Principal Associate, Liz also plays an active role in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the development of the wider practice. She is valued for her collaborative approach, attention to detail, and her consistent focus on delivering positive, commercially effective outcomes for clients.
