Tom Milburn is a partner in our corporate team and co-head of the industrial manufacturing sub-sector. He advises clients on complex and strategically significant cross-border M&A and joint ventures. He has spent time on secondment at Rolls-Royce and in the Eversheds Sutherland Shanghai office.

Tom is an international M&A lawyer in our corporate group with experience acting for major global corporates, listed companies, and private equity investors. He is a co-lead in our aerospace, defence and security sub-sector but has a range of sector experience including in industrials, defence, aerospace, retail and food and beverage sectors.

As a Partner, Tom can advise on and lead transactions across the full spectrum of corporate work, including disposals, acquisitions, joint ventures, investments and fundraising. He has been involved in a number of high-profile transactions attracting nationwide media attention.

Tom was seconded to Rolls-Royce for 11 months in 2021, where he worked in their dedicated M&A team and was a key member of the team tasked with delivering £2bn worth of non-core asset disposals in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. While on secondment, he gained invaluable experience of the pressures of in-house counsel and translated that into delivering the highest quality of client service. He was also seconded to our Shanghai office for six months in 2012 and worked on various M&A transactions and foreign direct investments, including a wine production joint venture for a French headquartered multi-national.
