Robert is a partner in the Eversheds Sutherland Banking team with more than 20 years’ experience in real estate finance, including over a decade as a partner. He advises on a broad range of transactions, including acquisitions, developments, refinancings, loan and portfolio acquisitions, loan-to-own transactions, debt buy-backs and restructurings.

A significant part of Robert’s practice focuses on development and capex finance, particularly in the office, living and logistics sectors. He acts for both lenders and borrowers across the capital structure, including banks, financial institutions, funds and investment companies, with a particular focus on private capital. He has notable expertise in complex intercreditor arrangements, regularly advising senior and mezzanine lenders on structured real estate financings, including A/B development financings.

Robert has extensive cross-border experience, including time spent in the firm’s European offices in Amsterdam and Munich. He has also completed secondments with J.P. Morgan, Barclays and Starwood Capital in legal, structuring and transaction management roles.
