Isabelle Mitchell is a partner in Eversheds Sutherland’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution group, with a practice centred on major public inquiries and investigations. She has extensive experience leading large scale, high profile investigations of national significance and has been recognised for her ability to provide calm, strategic leadership under intense public and political scrutiny.

Isabelle is currently Solicitor to the Angiolini Inquiry, and she also led the legal team for the Independent Inquiry into Telford Child Sexual Exploitation, acting as the principal legal adviser and main point of contact for the Chair, commissioning authority and key stakeholders. She also advises public bodies and core participants on disclosure, procedural fairness issues, and strategic engagement with an inquiry.

Isabelle also advises boards, public bodies and senior decision makers on highly sensitive matters involving serious allegations, institutional failure and/or issues of public accountability, and is proficient in establishing and managing complex, internal investigations or reviews, and matters requiring careful handling of legal risk, reputational exposure and stakeholder confidence, and ensuring decisions taken are resistant to challenge.
