Paul Coppin has practised defendant personal injury law for over 30 years and is a Legal Director in the Corporate Claims team. His technical excellence is recognised by both clients and colleagues.

His experience includes:

Morecambe Bay Helicopter crash - a seven fatality helicopter crash into the Irish Sea. Heavy national press interest and potential for substantial brand damage. Complex issues of fact and law involved.

A government organisation who had inadequate insurance cover for the claim. Catastrophic injury to an eight month old baby. The claim valued at around £8.5 million. Paul reported to the Chief Executive directly. There was national government interest.

Allegations of torture including the repeated administration of electric shocks at a military institution. If the issue became public the establishment would have been closed down and there would have been intense adverse press interest.

Instructed by household name supermarket to investigate and report upon a systematic fraud within their claims team. The report went to the board.

Acted for a nationally known children's holiday company. The claim involved an alleged rape of an 8 year old boy whilst in the care of the company. The claim was successfully defended without either payment or press interest.
