James is a Legal Director at Eversheds Sutherland specialising in the grid, regulatory and real estate elements of site development, sale, acquisition, power purchase and financing of renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

James has advised developers, funders and investors of all major clean energy technologies including wind (onshore and offshore), solar (ground based and commercial and residential rooftop), wave and tidal, biomass, anaerobic digestion, battery storage as well as related projects including data centre, infrastructure and interconnector schemes.

Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, James was a senior legal adviser in the Commercial Networks Team at Ofgem, with a focus on the regulatory and funding aspects of nuclear, CCUS (carbon capture usage and storage) and offshore transmission technologies.
