Joel Clendinning is a senior associate in the Corporate Finance group at Eversheds Sutherland, based in the firm’s Cardiff office. He advises UK and international clients on a broad range of transactional and non transactional corporate matters, including M&A, corporate governance, strategic investments and group reorganisations.

Joel has particular experience in financial services M&A, having advised on a number of recent transactions across the insurance, cash payments and asset and wealth management sectors. He regularly supports clients operating in regulated environments, providing commercially focused advice that reflects both transaction mechanics and sector specific considerations. His wider transaction experience also includes work in the renewables and industrials sectors.

Recent highlights of Joel’s practice include advising on large scale strategic acquisitions and exits for insurance and industrials clients in the UK and across Europe, including transactions involving targets and operations in Italy and Netherlands. He works closely with colleagues across Eversheds Sutherland’s international network, contributing to both transaction execution and detailed due diligence processes. Joel is recognised for his ability to identify issues of key commercial importance to clients and to manage complex, cross border matters with a pragmatic and solutions driven approach.
