Jonathan Leach

Work Department
Jonathan is a Partner and International Arbitration Practice Head in the UK. He represents corporates, banks and States in a various industry sectors, with particular experience of disputes in emerging markets. Although his focus is commercial arbitration and investment treaty arbitration, he also advises on dispute resolution mechanisms and risk mitigation strategies more generally. He was included in the inaugural Legal 500 UK International Arbitration Powerlist and is individually ranked in other leading directories. He is a Solicitor Advocate and regularly appears as advocate in arbitration hearings. As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, he sits as arbitrator.

During 2023, the London office notably bolstered its credentials through the recruitment of commercial and investment treaty arbitration specialist Katia Finkel from Baker McKenzie LLP in September, while infrastructure, energy and renewables sector expert James McKenzie and Wilson Antoon, who acts in international commercial and investor-state arbitrations, both joined from King & Wood Mallesons in November.

The ‘excellent’ commercial and investment treaty arbitration expert Katia Finkel and investor-state arbitration and public international law specialist Wilson Antoon are late 2023 hires from Baker McKenzie and King & Wood Mallesons, respectively.
