Career

Carolina Diab is a Special Counsel at BLP’s office in Guatemala. She specializes in Dispute Resolution, Competition & Antitrust, Estate & Succession Planning, and Business Law. She has extensive experience in arbitration, having served on various arbitral tribunals as both presiding arbitrator and co-arbitrator. Her practice also encompasses Commercial and Corporate Law, Mediation, Project Development, preparation of Legal Opinions and Risk Reports, Corporate Legal Audits, Mergers and Acquisitions, Family Estate Organization, Management of Succession Proceedings, design of Corporate Industrial Property Policies, as well as advisory and representation in Tax Litigation matters. She served as Executive Director of the Conflict Resolution Commission of the Chamber of Industry of Guatemala (CRECIG) between 2011 and 2025, where she promoted the dissemination and strengthening of arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution methods in the country. She continues serving as a member of the CRECIG Board of Directors. Carolina has been a tenured professor of the courses Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods and Commercial Law Workshop at the University of the Isthmus of Guatemala -UNIS.
