Gigi’s practice focuses on technology transactions, data privacy, and regulatory compliance advisory work across various industries. She has significant experience with private cross-border M&A and private equity investments.

Gigi also has extensive knowledge of cross-border commercial technology transactions. She has worked with clients on a variety of projects from traditional technology transfer arrangements to complex collaborative development relationships. She has provided specialist operational technology law advice to clients in Greater China and Asia.

Gigi handles all types of data advisory work across Greater China. She regularly advises clients on cutting-edge technology and IP regulatory matters covering data privacy, data security, data localization, cross-border data transfer, cybersecurity, and fintech.

Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, Gigi was an associate in the Hong Kong office of a major international law firm.

Gigi is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Representative Experience:

An NYSE-listed U.S. video game engine company in connection with Establishment and operation through a leading Chinese online partner of PRC-based cloud services for development studio customers in China; and Establishment of a joint venture with multiple Tier 1 Chinese Internet technology companies to create, develop, and roll out a China-specific platform and ecosystem based on the client’s industry-leading products, technologies, and online services. A U.S. multinational consumer technology company with respect to its international payment network, including advising on regulatory requirements in Hong Kong and Macau, and issues pertaining to stored value card use of NFT wallets in metro transport systems. The venture arm of an international payment network with respect to strategic investments in Early stage fintech companies, including a B2B and B2C SaaS platform for tax processing and payment in Singapore; An open finance tech platform providing solutions for financial institutions in Southeast Asia (SEA); and An Indonesian B2C travel services platform operating throughout SEA. A leading Chinese Internet services company in multiple debt and equity financings of a securities fintech business licensed by the SFC and which offers a Chinese language app for trading equities in select international markets. A number of multinationals in various industries including technology, consumer health, and hospitality on data privacy and regulatory issues.
