Career
Michael Kim is a partner in Mayer Brown's Singapore office. Michael advises and represents project sponsors, developers, governments, export credit agencies, multilateral agencies and commercial lenders on the project development and financing of power, oil & gas and infrastructure projects.
He advises on wind, solar, hydropower, geothermal and thermal power projects, oil & gas and petrochemical facilities and major infrastructure projects including subsea transmission cables, water treatment facilities, railroads, telecom towers and stadiums.
Michael has extensive experience in advising clients on the structuring, drafting and negotiation of a broad range of project and finance documents including power purchase agreements and concession agreements and the full suite of finance documents for limited and non-recourse project financings.
Clients turn to Michael for his advice on projects across Asia Pacific, the Americas and the Middle East including those in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Bangladesh, the Pacific Islands, the UAE, the United States and Mexico.
As a native Korean speaker, he also regularly advises Korean clients on a broad range of corporate, commercial and dispute-related matters, particularly in the infrastructure and transport sectors.
