Gustavo Scheffer advises and represents clients in high-stakes, complex litigation, and arbitration matters. Gustavo represents clients in national and international arbitrations, focusing on disputes in the civil construction, energy and technology sectors. He is an arbitrator in international arbitrations administered under the rules of international and regional institutions.

Gustavo acts in cases governed by various legal systems, including French, Peruvian, Bolivian, Mexican, Panamanian, and Brazilian law, and conducts proceedings in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. He is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce Centre for Amicable Dispute Resolution (ICC ADR) and represents Brazil at the Institute of International Arbitration (ITA). He is on the List of Adjudicators of the Centro Nacional e Internacional de Arbitrage de la Cámara de Comercio de Lima and is a board member of the Brazilian Institute for Construction Law (IBDiC). Gustavo also participates in the Editorial Board of the Brazilian Arbitration Review and is involved with the ICC’s Latin-American Arbitration Group and the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr). Between 2018 and 2021, he served as Director of IBDiC and formerly coordinated ICC Brazil’s infrastructure committee.
