Juan Felipe has over twenty years of combined experience in both the public and private sectors in the field of aviation law. His career includes serving as an air transport advisor to several Directors of Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority. Since 2011, he has led the aviation law practice at PRA, where he has overseen numerous processes for the establishment and certification of cargo and passenger airlines in the country. He has also served as a professor of Aviation Law at Universidad Sergio Arboleda.

Recognized as one of Colombia’s leading experts in aviation law, he advises various international airlines on strategic regulatory matters essential to the development and execution of their business plans in Colombia. His work includes obtaining operating permits, securing traffic rights up to fifth freedom of the air, aircraft registration, slot allocation at Bogotá (BOG) and Medellín (MDE) airports, negotiating inter-airline cooperation agreements, launching new routes and frequencies, and developing AVSEC programs.

He currently serves as the principal legal representative of Volaris México and Volaris Costa Rica in Colombia.
