Since joining our firm in 2015, Rafael has excellently led the Labor Law, Social Security, Occupational Health and Safety, and Immigration Affairs Department. He provides advisory services distinguished by maintaining a comprehensive view of our clients’ business, promoting cross-disciplinary work between practice areas, and maintaining direct contact with clients and various teams.

His career includes extensive experience in managing labor issues arising from mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, sales, and liquidations of companies in Colombia. He has led significant labor negotiations, addressing due diligence projects, labor restructuring processes, retirement plans, labor litigation, and consulting for the country’s leading business groups.

Moreover, he has established an interdisciplinary team that not only provides advice on labor matters but also offers comprehensive consulting in human talent areas, advising on compensation and benefits, talent retention, and development. In addition to this, his extensive experience in labor safety and health regulations allows him to offer strategies and recommendations that ensure compliance with the highest quality standards.

Graduated in Law from Universidad del Norte, Rafael specialized in Labor Law and Social Security at Universidad del Rosario, further complementing his education with a Master’s degree in Human Management and Organizational Development from Universidad Externado de Colombia.

Rafael has gained international recognition for his outstanding performance, being included in prestigious rankings such as The Legal 500 as one of the country’s leading lawyers in labor matters and has been invited as a speaker at various internationally impactful events. As an active member of the College of Labor Lawyers, Rafael continues to contribute to the development and promotion of best practices in the labor field.
