Career
Artur Badra is the chair of the Latin American practice, with over two decades of experience advising global companies operating in the region as well as Latin American corporations expanding internationally. He brings a deep understanding of the region’s legal, cultural, and business environments, supported by his fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
His practice centers on mergers and acquisitions for both domestic and multinational companies, cross-border transactions, corporate restructurings, and joint ventures. He also coordinates local strategies on competition issues and oversees internal corporate investigations related to fraud, anticorruption, and competition law violations. Artur has recently counseled major LatAm companies such as Braskem, BTG, Embraer, Petrobras, and XP on complex transactional matters.
Having worked for many years at Jones Day in Europe, Artur has been an integral part of the firm’s São Paulo office since its opening in 2011. In addition to his client work, he is strongly committed to mentoring young lawyers and actively supports inclusion initiatives within the firm. His combination of international perspective, regional expertise, and dedication to talent development makes him a trusted advisor and leader in Latin America’s legal landscape.
