In practice for more than 40 years, Jim Markus is a preeminent finance attorney who is dedicated to understanding his clients’ needs and designs practical and effective solutions to address the risks and opportunities they face. As a partner in the Haynes and Boone Finance Practice Group, Jim represents financial institutions, corporations, private equity firms and alternative lenders.

Jim’s practice spans commercial lending, corporate finance, loan workouts, and restructurings, with a special emphasis on asset-based lending, syndicated financings, leveraged acquisitions, and mezzanine finance. Over many years, he has handled complex workouts of troubled loans, including in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
