Career

Giorgio Bovenzi is a finance and restructuring lawyer and leads Haynes and Boone's Global Credit Risk Management practice. He advises clients on commercial, banking and insolvency law in the context of financial market transactions, providing analysis and implementation of arrangements designed to mitigate credit risk and adverse regulatory capital implications across multiple jurisdictions. He recently expanded the scope of his practice to include digital assets and their credit and regulatory implications. Giorgio’s practice relies on 25 years of experience in credit, banking, regulatory, derivatives and insolvency law in multiple jurisdictions around the world.

After graduating in Italy from the Universita' degli Studi di Napoli Federico II – Law School and practicing as a litigator in Italy, Giorgio obtained a Master of Comparative Jurisprudence from New York University School of Law in 1995 and, after a judicial clerkship with the Hon. Donald C. Pogue at the U.S. Court of International Trade and then admission to the New York Bar, he started to practice in the United States.  Before joining Haynes and Boone in 2019, Giorgio practiced at Wall Street law firms in New York City.
