Career

Jorge joined the firm in 2010. His practice focuses on different areas, primarily corporate, civil, commercial, notarial, real estate, and administrative law; advising important national and international companies, with high standards of ethics, responsibility, commitment, and quality. 

 Representing the firm, he served for one year as in-house legal advisor in the Guatemala division, of a major multinational company in the hydrocarbons sector, focusing on the general corporate area. 

 He has participated in mergers and acquisitions processes, from the due diligence process to the closing of the transaction; he has extensive experience in the incorporation, modification, merger, and liquidation of companies; and he provides advice on matters of corporate governance, transactions, and day-to-day business affairs, to ensure that companies are in full compliance with their legal obligations. 

 He has carried out large-scale projects of voluntary diligences of supplementary titling of possessory rights over real estates; and provides advice on real estate and construction matters, throughout much of the Republic of Guatemala. 

 He has provided advice on public bidding and contracting processes, from the initial phase to the project implementation phase, for having successfully achieved the adjudication; and, where appropriate, also in the filing of administrative appeals against resolutions issued by the competent authorities that have violated the client's rights
