Michael is a member of Davis Polk’s Investment Management group. His practice focuses on the representation of private fund sponsors in the establishment, marketing and operations of private investment funds, including private equity, private credit, secondary, hedge, real estate, co-investment funds and funds of funds as well as the representation of sponsors and investors in complex secondary transactions, including GP-led secondary transactions and continuation vehicle deals.

Michael also advises on GP stakes deals and acquisitions of asset management firms. He represents management teams in investment adviser spin-outs and advises institutional investors that invest in private funds. Michael also represents emerging fund sponsors, advises sponsors and investment professionals on upper-tier matters and also provides regulatory advice to his private fund clients.

Michael is a Member (and past Secretary) of the NYC Bar Association’s Private Investment Funds Committee and a Member of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association.
