Laura is collaboratively trained and endeavours to negotiate amicable settlements wherever possible. This is particularly important in child-centred cases. Her approach is solution-focussed and empathetic and her aim is to support and guide her clients as they navigate the legal process amidst difficult personal circumstances.

Laura is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in family law, child law and as a mediator in family law. She advises clients on a broad range of family law issues, including divorce, financial provision on separation, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation, adoption and disputes relating to children and has wide experience in complex and high-value cases and those with intersecting public law aspects.

In situations where court action is necessary, Laura is an experienced litigator and regularly appears in the Sheriff Courts. She is mindful that her clients require a sensitive and pragmatic approach and that court proceedings can be stressful and emotional. Laura strives to help clients participate fully in what can be a daunting process so that they achieve positive outcomes.
