Caroline leads our Glasgow commercial real estate team. Specialising in commercial real estate since she qualified in 1995, her clients range from PLCs and institutional funds through to SMEs and individuals.

Caroline specialises in all aspects of commercial real estate work, with excellent experience in:

• investment purchases and sales
• leases and agreements for lease (acting on behalf of tenant and landlord)
• advising on the real estate aspects of corporate transactions, and in particular handling the Scottish property aspects of cross-border transactions
• development, including joint venture agreements and development management agreements
• dilapidations
• the property aspects of insolvency work (with a particular focus on dealing with insolvent tenants)
• securities

Recent experience includes advising on the acquisition and development of a flagship office headquarters building in Glasgow, dealing with all Scottish lease work for two major high-street retailers, and acting for an institutional landlord in sales, acquisitions and lettings of industrial and retail property. Caroline has also provided commerical real estate support on a number of high value corporate transactions, including one involving the sale of a 67,000sqft purpose-built industrial complex on a 12-acre site in Glasgow.

Caroline is passionate about what she does. She enjoys getting to know her clients’ businesses so she can gain a full understanding of their key commercial drivers. She works collaboratively with every client and tailors her approach to their commercial goals.

Caroline’s expertise in property and leasing is acknowledged by her peers, and she is actively involved in supporting Harper Macleod’s wide network of HM Connect firms in commercial real estate matters. She is also a regular speaker at external seminars on commercial property and its various specialisms.
