Position

Sonia is a partner in our top-tier Jersey Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, focusing on advice to leading onshore law firms, fiduciaries and HNWIs in relation to complex and high value trust disputes, commercial litigation and insolvency matters.

She acts for trustees and beneficiaries in contentious and non-contentious matters with an international element, and has experience of complex applications and trial work before the Royal Court and Court of Appeal in Jersey.

Sonia is a Jersey Advocate and is recognised by both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 for her work on Jersey law disputes.

Sonia was part of the Bedell Cristin team which acted for the successful Plaintiffs, Cristiana Crociani and her daughters, in Crociani v Crociani, a long-running $200 million breach of trust claim before the Royal Court and Court of Appeal in Jersey and the Privy Council.

Sonia obtained a BSc in Mathematics at Durham University and subsequently undertook the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in London.

Sonia completed her training contract at a London firm, before relocating to Jersey and joining Bedell Cristin in 2016.

She completed the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management with Distinction in 2020 and is a STEP Affiliate Member, and qualified as a Jersey Advocate in 2023.
