Mona is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales and a consultant to the China Desk at CANDEY. She has extensive experience advising Chinese corporates and ultra-high-net-worth clients, working alongside the wider CANDEY team on high-profile matters ranging from investor disputes and shareholder conflicts to insolvency proceedings, cross-border asset recovery, and enforcement.

Before qualifying as a solicitor, Mona worked at a securities firm in Canada where she specialised in private funds and options investments. This background in banking and finance, coupled with her commercial acumen, enables her to provide strategic, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice to institutional investors and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

Bilingual in Mandarin and English, Mona plays a key role in navigating complex cross-border disputes involving Chinese parties or assets. Her linguistic fluency and cultural insight help bridge jurisdictions and ensure seamless communication with clients and counterparties.

Mona holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Peking University Law School, where she graduated top of her class. Prior to this, she completed the LPC with distinction and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business.
