Jerard is an Associate at Fletchers, having qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and has represented clinical negligence claimants since then.

As an advocate for patient rights, Jerard has developed specific expertise in complex spinal injuries. He has previously settled in a case for a person who sustained an incomplete tetraplegic injury in a road traffic accident, for a net value of £9.4 Million.

In addition to this, Jerard specialises in gynaecology, amputation, complex orthopaedic, nerve and other sensory injuries, including complex regional pain syndrome. As a strong supporter of mediation, Jerard has secured numerous 6 figure settlements via ADR.

Amongst some of his accreditations, Jerard has built up a strong reputation with the Association of Personal Injury Solicitors (APIL), having served as their Clinical Negligence Special Interest Group Coordinator between 2017-2024. Jerard is part of APIL’s Clinical Negligence Conference Committee and a regular Chairperson at the annual conference.

More recently, he has renewed his APIL accreditation as a Senior Litigator and Clinical Negligence Specialist.

As well as being a highly skilled clinical negligence solicitor, Jerard is also an experienced Inquest Lawyer, in which he is regularly instructed in clinical inquests particularly arising from maternal and neonatal death, stillbirth and delayed diagnosis. As well as this, he has contributed to Parliamentary and NHS England Consultations on Reform and Improvement of the NHS/Clinical Negligence Law.
