Partner

Simon is a partner in the corporate team.

Simon focuses on investment funds, covering private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, hedge, crypto and RMB-USD funds, representing both investment managers and investors in Asia.

He also advises on licensing applications and ongoing regulatory and compliance obligations relevant to investment managers. Simon has experience advising on fund offerings in Hong Kong, the PRC, the United States and Australia.

In addition, Simon specializes in financial regulations and other legal issues applicable to investment managers, fintech companies, financial institutions, banks, and family offices. In particular, with the continued growth of emerging tech / fintech in the financial services sector, he regularly advises clients on the regulatory and contractual implications of innovative business ventures.

Simon was recognized as a "Next Generation Lawyer" for Investment Funds in Hong Kong by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific for 2017, 2018 and 2019. He was also recommended by The Legal 500 in 2025 for Fintech and financial services regulatory and Investment funds.

Before joining the firm, Simon led the private funds practice of another international law firm in Hong Kong and was a senior member of its financial services regulatory practice. He also practiced law at a leading Australian firm in Sydney and two US firms in Hong Kong.
