Career

Emlyn Williams is a partner and employment lawyer with Weightmans LLP, in the EPI team based in Liverpool. Emlyn heads up the Healthcare Employment Team nationally.

He has 35 years’ experience in all aspects of employment law.

Emlyn is recognised as a ‘strong advocate’ in Legal 500 and regularly represents clients in both the Employment Tribunal and the Employment Appeals Tribunal.

He specialises in all aspects of employment law, with interests in whistleblowing, discrimination, MHPS, SOSR cases, and TUPE. He regularly advises on complex reorganisation projects, sensitive discrimination cases, and high-profile issues concerning senior managers and Board members, including dismissals. Legal 500 also describes Emlyn as ‘highly regarded for his work on whistleblowing and discrimination matters.’

Away from the law, Emlyn was a Trustee of the Liverpool city centre -based art gallery and charity, FACT, from 2015 to 2021.

He has been a volunteer at Glastonbury Festival, in the recycling team, for over 10 years.

He has also recently, in association with a specialist NHS Trust in Liverpool, become involved in the Liverpool Chapter of Citizens UK, a charity which seeks to empower local communities to develop their voice, leadership and develop the power and strategy to make real change.
