Rupen Shah is a finance and corporate lawyer with over 20 years’ experience advising financial institutions, funds and corporates on complex cross-border lending, acquisition finance, real estate finance and restructurings, particularly involving Bermuda, BVI and Cayman entities. Based in Hong Kong since 2007, Rupen works with clients across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, often coordinating multi-jurisdictional deal teams and stakeholder groups on time-sensitive transactions.

Rupen acts for both lenders and borrowers on secured lending and cross-border structures and is known for delivering practical, execution-driven advice aligned to commercial objectives and risk management. He also advises on directors’ duties, corporate governance and structuring matters.

Prior to joining GPS, Rupen was a Partner at Walkers in Hong Kong in the Finance and Corporate Group. He previously practised at Appleby (Hong Kong and Jersey) and Bedell Cristin (Jersey) and trained with McGrigors in London.

Rupen has been recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers for his offshore banking and finance work.
