Vikram Sobti brings over 16 years of experience advising on complex real estate transactions, industrial land acquisition, regulatory compliance, and high-stakes disputes. As Partner and Head of the Real Estate Practice at Chandhiok & Mahajan (C&M), he advises leading corporates, developers, and investors on structuring, negotiating, and implementing land-intensive projects across India. He is known for combining business-oriented pragmatism with regulatory rigour, building legal frameworks that enable smooth execution of complex land and industrial transactions while mitigating long-term risk.

Vikram has led numerous transactions involving industrial, manufacturing, township, and logistics developments, including joint development agreements, collaborations, land pooling structures, and large-scale due diligence exercises. His experience covers the full life cycle—from land acquisition and title verification to regulatory clearances, development structuring, and dispute resolution—with projects spread across NCR, Lucknow, Pune, Hyderabad, Indore, Ludhiana, and Mohali.

Prior to rejoining C&M, Vikram served as General Counsel at Emaar India, where he led a 28-member legal team and oversaw some of the country’s most complex real estate and infrastructure transactions. He successfully negotiated high-value joint ventures, resolved long-pending land and development disputes, and managed sensitive regulatory matters involving enforcement and planning authorities. He also spearheaded compliance initiatives that streamlined internal processes, reduced active litigation by 35%, and delivered measurable cost efficiencies.

Vikram’s work frequently involves advising multinational clients and institutional investors on entry, investment structuring, and regulatory strategy in India, particularly under the FEMA, RERA, and state industrial development frameworks. His deep familiarity with UPSIDA, DTCP, and other state land-allotment and industrial policy regimes positions him well to advise on manufacturing and industrial land transactions.
