Career

Michael Tung was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong SAR in June 1990 and the Supreme Court of England and Wales in September 1991 respectively. Mr. Tung was appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China as a China-Appointed Attesting Officer in July 2012. In June 2024, Mr. Tung was qualified as a lawyer of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area recognised by the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province of the People’s Republic of China.

Mr. Tung has over 34 years of experience in corporate finance and commercial legal practices and been persistently involved in the securities and commercial matters in Hong Kong for PRC stated-owned enterprises, PRC private enterprises and red-chips companies. His areas of practice mainly cover initial public offerings in Hong Kong, mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt securities issues and compliance with the Hong Kong listing rules and codes on takeovers and mergers and other regulatory matters. Mr. Tung is also experienced in other general commercial practices including advice on Hong Kong companies and securities law and various commercial contracts.

In respect of social responsibility, Mr. Tung is current the company secretary of numerous listed companies in Hong Kong.
