Phil and his team act on behalf of:

national, regional and local developers, housebuilders and promoters in respect of immediate and strategic development projects; landowners who are disposing of land for development; banks, building societies and alternative lenders in relation to secured lending for development projects; and commercial developers who are acquiring and developing land for commercial schemes.

Phil is ranked in the latest edition of Chambers and Partners legal directory in the field of Real Estate, having been described as “extremely diligent, responsive and commercial”. In addition, Phil is classified as a leading individual in the latest edition of the Legal 500 where he is described as “a fantastic lawyer [who] has a very good understanding of the practicalities of development and how contracts apply in practice” and as “a go-to counsel for developers, promoters and landowners”.

Phil was previously a partner at national firms Clarke Willmott and Foot Anstey and joined Birketts in May 2025.
