Position

Hiro is the office Managing Partner of Bird & Bird Gaikokuho Kyodo Jigyo Houritsu Jimu Bengoshi Jimusho and a corporate/commercial partner.

Career

Hiro advises clients on cross-border corporate matters such as M&A, JV and FDI in a variety of sectors, notably across technology and communications, energy and utilities, media and entertainment and automotive. In particular, he has a lot of experience in supporting Japanese companies in the UK and Europe on their day-to-day legal issues as well (e.g. compliance, employment, commercial contracts).

Hiro has extensive experience in providing legal advice to Japanese companies on cross-border matters including M&A transactions, joint ventures, foreign direct investment and the establishment of subsidiaries, including manufacturing facilities.

Hiro also provides a wide range of day-to-day legal advice to Japanese clients, including general contract reviews, compliance advice (data protection, anti-bribery, competition, and regulatory matters), corporate reorganisations, dispute resolutions (arbitration and litigation), employment matters, real estate transactions, and advice on administrations/liquidations and withdrawals of businesses.

Hiro also advises on English law matters for Japanese clients in other jurisdictions, including India, Singapore and Hong Kong.
