Career

Norman acts for major insolvency accountants, financial institutions and corporate clients. His work spans both contentious and non-contentious insolvency mandates. He is a panel member of the disciplinary tribunal of Football Victoria. He is based in Melbourne.

He advises on corporate insolvency, bankruptcy, securities enforcement, banking and finance disputes, and complex commercial litigation. He acts in all aspects of insolvency administration including liquidations, public examinations, director liability proceedings and asset recovery. He also advises on risk management and alternative dispute resolution with a focus on achieving commercial outcomes for clients.

Norman has been an adviser in a number of Victoria’s major insolvency administrations. His experience includes acting for the liquidators of the IPO Wealth Group of Companies in relation to an unregistered managed investment scheme in which over $80 million had been invested.. He also defended Cash Converters Limited in a class action relating to finance products marketed in New South Wales.

He has more than 25 years of experience in dispute resolution, insolvency and banking, including in some of Victoria’s largest insolvency administrations. His approach combines close engagement with clients’ commercial imperatives with disciplined dispute resolution strategy.
