Brett advises on gaming and gambling licensing, regulatory compliance and the legal requirements governing gaming machine installation and operation in recreational venues. His sports and entertainment practice covers commercial arrangements, governance matters and regulatory compliance for sporting bodies, clubs and entertainment sector clients.

Brett advises on gaming licensing matters that require careful navigation of state-based regulatory regimes, licence applications and conditions, and the specific requirements governing gaming machine operations in non-casino venues. His practice spans both advisory and transactional work for clients where gaming compliance and licensing are central commercial considerations.

Brett is recognised in Chambers Asia Pacific 2026 as an active adviser across a variety of gaming and gambling issues, with particular experience in gaming machine licensing for recreational locations. His specialism in this regulated and operationally complex area distinguishes his practice within the Sports and Entertainment sector.

Appointed by Clubs NSW to the Code Authority, the Club Industry’s peak Governance body, in 2005. Inducted into the Club Managers Association of Australia Hall of Fame as an associate member in 2002 in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the provision of legal services to the Clubs Industry.
